  • A hospital in WV is looking for experienced RN's for Float positions to cover Ortho units.
  • The ideal travelers has MS/Tele experience as well as low level Ortho experience.
  • EPIC is required as well as WV or compact license.

      • Schedule Information
      • Mainly 1:5-6 patient ratio for both days & nights on most units (once or twice a month could have 7 patients toward the end of the shift).
      • Every-other-weekend. Sat/Sun for both Days/Nights.
      • Work in the holiday rotation schedule with perm staff.
      • 12-hour shifts 7a - 7p; 7p - 7a.
        • Unit Specific Information
        • Charge Nurse: Yes - Every unit has a charge nurse.
        • Nurse Aides: Yes - all units use CNAs.
        • Weekend Requirement: Every-other-weekend.
        • Scrub Color: Royal Blue.
        • Tele: Phillips - Most units have monitor techs but RN's must be able to read & interpret strips.
        • RT 24/7: CPAP & BiPap only - RT manages.
        • Vents: Some units could have BiPAP or CPAP - RT Manages.
        • RT is in-house 24/7 but RN's do aerosols for non-vented patients as well as EKGs.
        • IV Team available house-wide until 10 pm M-F & until 3:30 pm on the weekends.
        • In-house pharmacy 24/7 & use Accudose.
          • Additional Details
          • Floor specific orientation: 1-2 Shifts with a preceptor.
          • Common diagnosis / Types of patients: CHF, Cardiac cath, CP, pneumonia, chronic renal disease, COPD, Ortho, & Oncology (perm staff will administer chemo).
          • Update as of 5/14/2021: If floating to Critical Care, will be assigned med/surg or stepdown type patients.
          • Very traveler friendly.
          • NO FALSE NAILS;12 hr nights, weekends as scheduled.
